So, I'm closer to starting on the armoire. I've been looking for the right hardware for some time, and found out vintage/antique hardware like I wanted was expensive. So, I've spent quite a bit of time on ebay and I might have what I need soon!
I'm planning on painting the piece a light aqua, washing with a gray paint, sanding to distress, and then antiquing with a walnut stain. I wanted bronze toned hardware in a vintage style and to have two pulls on each drawer instead of the one in the center. What do you think?

Wait, it there supposed to be a pic?
1I think it will look to be great. The way you are describing it sounds as if it would look great in a bedroom in a beach house. I can't wait to see pics.
2I like the colors you have picked. You've got to keep us updated! Is that a cabinet on top of the drawers...I really like armoires. I have 3 of them in my home!
3Yeah, it's a great piece. Four drawers, one square door on top of that, and one door with a hanging rod inside. It's a very useful piece!
4Shabby chic is not my fave style but I am sure that it will look gorgeous in the right setting. Plus doing it yourself is always so satisfying, I applaud your commitment to this project!
