This plain wicker chair needed a little "something", and this playful parrot fabric was just the ticket! I decided to do a contrasting welt in a bold pink. I can't wait to add additional pieces to this chair!

I'm so excited about how this chair turned out. I decided to be bold and choose two different coordinating fabrics. The improvement from before to after is amazing! The Result!The back and trim are a coordinating fabric!The "before" was plain and stained!

An Incredible Chair to Re-Mix

I can't wait to paint and re-upholster this potential beauty. I plan to use it in my "girly" guest room, which is predominantly white, pink, and bright green. I'm thinking of painting the frame a creamy white and antiquing it slightly so the floral design shows, and having it upholstered in a bubble bum pink color. The jury's still out on the upholstery color, but I'm ready to start on the painting. I have a footstool to match and the chair is really wide and comfortable, so it will make a fabulous reading corner!

Furniture Sent out to Re-Upholster

I sent three pieces out to re-upholster about three weeks ago. He told me it should take about four weeks, so I should be one week away from getting these back. I can't wait to see them.

The corner chair will completely be re-done because the springs were horrible. He will re-tie them and make it as good as new. I chose a leafy green velvet for the new upholstery because I'm using green accents in the master bedroom and want to use it there.

The shield back chair will be a bright red floral fabric, but the back and piping of the chair will be a green coordinating print. It should look fabulous.

The third piece is a cute wicker chair. The guy will make a great cushion for it using a fabric I found that is green with multi-color parrots.

I'll be sure to post pictures of the finished products when I get them back!This corner chair will have a bright leafy green velvet.This chair will have a fab red print and the piping (welting) will be a bright green print.This wicker chair will come back with a green cushion with colorful parrots.

An old bookcase/china cabinet needs a new look

I picked this old bookcase/china cabinet up a few years ago. It has since moved around my house but has found a place in my living room. The colors don't go at all, it's a forest green and my walls are a light tan, and my furniture colors are dark cranberries and browns. I guess I'm just sick of looking at it but dont' know where to start.

I've been looking for the perfect drawer pulls for this armoire, and I just found them on ebay. I needed ten of them, which is difficult in itself, so was excited when I found them. They are on the way, so I'm ready to get started now!

Vintage Furniture Find of the Day

I stopped at my local antique store today on my way home from errands and found this table for $10.80. Although it may not look like much right now, it will be a great TV/Media table for my daughter at college. Some paint, a pull/handle for the drawer and a cut-out for wires will make this table perfect to house a TV, DVD player, and DVDs in the drawer!
